Disney's Animal Kingdom meets the standards in education, conservation and research to be accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. It has been called a “kingdom of harmony, balance and survival”. The 500-acre expanse is comprised of seven areas and is home to about 1700 animals representing 250 species.
Wallabies, hyacinth macaw and giant anteater are seen along the paths leading to the park's hub. Side-splitting laughter resounds from the 4-D film, It's Tough to be a Bug!, near the acclaimed Tree of Life. Festival of the Lion King is a roaring musical performance. Visitors venture along the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail to see hippos, exotic birds and fish, and gorillas. Kilimajaro Safaris trail through Harambe Wildlife Preserve by lions, giraffes, and rhinos. Rustic trains shuttle passengers to Raffiki?s Planet Watch where they experience Conservation Station, Habitat Habit and Affection Station. The Maharajah Jungle Trek winds amidst ancient ruins inhabited by tigers and tapirs. Puppet come to life in Finding Nemo - The Musical. DINOSAUR offers a thrilling ride to the prehistoric past.
Themed restaurants are located throughout the park. Imported handicrafts and an assorted of Disney merchandise can be found at the numerous gift shops.

Kali River Rapids are refreshing on a hot day as riders may get quite wet.
To avoid potential stress for the animals, there are no fireworks at the Animal Kingdom.
